Have you heard? Beverly's Pink Saturdays is helping Kelee at the Katillac Shack celebrate a beautiful makeover Kelee did for Colette with the help of Guideposts Magazine. Colette was undergoing chemotherapy in a tiny rental house when Kelee and Guideposts stepped in to transform her bedroom into a beautiful sanctuary. You can watch the video transformation here. Pink Saturday, sponsored by Beverly, helped raise money for Collette's makeover. Now Kelee and Beverly are once again linking up and for every comment left on Kelee's and Beverly's blog, a dollar will be donated by Guideposts for another Miracle Makeover.
Beverly asked us to write about someone inspirational today. I want to tell you about a tiny girl with a strength that comes from her faith in God and the love for her husband. My sister-in-law's daughter, Amy, had only been married 38 days in 2005 when her husband, Jared, was involved in a horrific accident. A van carrying ten Utah state Ag students and their professor blew a tire and rolled off the highway. There were only two survivors. Jared was one of them.
Almost five years later, Amy takes care of Jared full time. Jared is over 6' and 200+ lbs. Amy is tiny and she is Jared's sole caretaker. She washes him, feeds him, tends to his bodily functions, shifts him from bed to chair. Amy's mom is a California transplant and Amy is from Utah so we only know Amy through pictures and videos. We hear about Amy and are continually amazed. I worked for three years as a nursing assistant and I know how physically tiring it is to care for someone with little to no mobility. Yet Amy carries on and continues to smile. I'm hoping Amy won't mind that I told you a little about her story. We keep Amy and Jared in our prayers. I hope you will too.
