This beautiful rose bloomed, under my bedroom window, just in time for Pink Saturday! Do you see my garden too? I decided to take my chances and plant a fall garden. We planted lettuce, brussel sprout and cauliflower seeds. Wish us luck. Next spring I want to have a flower cutting garden with some vegetables mixed in. I'm thinking sweet peas and cosmos to mix with all of the pink roses.
This is what is under the rose bushes in front of my bedroom window. I raked out most of the dead leaves and pulled the weeds. I thought they might be day lilies because there were some long dry stalks but now I'm not sure. Do any of you gardeners recognize these leaves? Do you think I should dig them all up and divide them too?
Where the soon to be vegetable garden is now, there was an iris bed. The irises were practically sitting on top of the soil. We took them out and moved them to a long bed where we can identify them by color next spring. Underneath the iris bulbs were more bulbs. I thought they were daffodil and tulip bulbs and I have been spreading them through the yard. I put some in a half barrel under the primroses I transplanted from my friend's yard. Look what came up.
I think it's a calla lily and here I was imagining lots of pink tulips and yellow daffodils. Not sure whether to sigh or not.
Speaking of beautiful gardens. Have you ever visited Kay Ellen? She has a beautiful garden.
Just look at her pink dahlias!
Happy Pink Saturday!!

I think lilies too. That dirt looks nice and rich!

Here in the desert it has been so darn HOT mine have mainly burnt up. It was 106 here yesterday and we are expecting another hot one today. I am hoping for a Fall garden maybe?
Have a gorgeous day sweet friend. Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

They might be what we call 'one day flowers' or tradescantia. They are lovely and so easy! Better than lilies if you don't mind ME saying so, as they blossom longer! Happy Pink Saturday Betty!

Your gardens are going to be fantastic! Finding pink in the Autumn is not always easy in a garden. I am looking forward to seeing more of the new house and garden.
