No sewing this week. No paper crafting. Just lots of pulling weeds and getting ready for spring. I think I told you that the previous owner was a dutch man who loved to garden. Every day there's a new surprise in the yard. Violets by the sidewalk, bulbs popping up in the flower beds. Even iris blooming already. My mom, who lives with me, turned 80 yesterday. We planted four new rose bushes in her honor. Mr, Lincoln, Blue Boy, Chrysler Imperial and Grenada which is going to be a pretty coral pink. Roses seem to bloom almost year round here so they're a dependable plant for color in the yard. I've been trying to plant things that Louie doesn't like to eat. Roses are one of them. He did try to dig up the Grenada rose this morning though. Bad puppy. We have bergenia across the front of the house and it has a pretty pink bloom. My favorite pink geranium is just about to bloom too. Spring time is my very favorite time of year. I know lots of you are buried in snow. Joyce at Scrap for Joy was laughing because I was pulling weeds and hers were covered with snow. So, there is something good about snow. You get a break from weeding. Weeds grow so fast here that by the time I am done at one end of the house, I have to start all over again.
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday. I hope spring is just around the corner for you too!
Won't you go visit my friend Janelle at Sweet Bee Cottage? She always has something pretty to share on Pink Saturday too!
