I spent all morning trying to balance my bank account. That depressed me so I spent the rest of the day consciously avoiding the lure of the peanut butter fudge in the kitchen. I decided to get out the Tanya Whelan fabric that I have been hoarding and sew. I was working on heart shaped sachets.
Kim at Daisy Cottage calls her stuffed fabric hearts-bowl fillers. I added some lavender to mine when I was stuffing them and they smell so good. Aromatherapy for the soul. I played with buttons and lace and before long I had forgotten that I was now broke and in need of a fudge fix. I stopped long enough to scramble some eggs with green chili and Christmas ham, kissed the hubby goodbye as he went off to work and went back to my sewing.
When I stopped, I had made three sachets and a pretty new pincushion for my Lollishop. I also had the perfect post for Beverly's Pink Saturday. As long as I can sew, I can keep posting on Saturday. I've got quilts planned and more sachets and maybe even an apron or two.
Make sure to stop over at Beverly's. Don't forget to visit the other Pink Saturday participants. Take the time to read Beverly's post about Christmas memories. It brought a tear to my eye.
OOOH, Peanut Butter Fudge!! I LOVE that stuff. There's no way any would be left at my house!! Your pink sachets and pin cushion are just so sweet!!! You certainly have a knack for combining fabrics and embellishments to create the most beautiful items. Whoa!! You're upset about turning 49--you're just a babe!!! Wait until you reach my age--then you'll have something to be upset about! :) Hang in there and have a great new year and a swell Pink Sat!!! Dana

What beautiful pink sachets. I can almost smell the lavender.
I haven't balanced a check book in a couple of years or longer. I do all of our banking online now and it is always up to date. What did we ever do without computers?
Happy Pink Saturday.

Oh Betty,
Pink lavender scented sachets and Tanya Whelan fabric. No calories and much better than peanut butter fudge ! Well, AS GOOD AS ! anyway !
Congratulations on sewing up a storm in between the holidays. More power to you !
The sachets and pin cushions are just divine. I have small pair of curtains to make for the front door window, and with company coming on New Year's Day, and your sewing to inspire me there is good chance I will get the curtains done !
Well done again, Betty, Hugs, Janice

Hello Betty, I too have enjoyed getting to know you. I don't think I could resist peanut butter fudge. LOL. Your sachets are so sweet as is the pin cushion too. You have a way with the art of sewing these sweet things. My mom made beautiful pillows with vintage fabrics and laces. She loved the detailed trims just like yours.
Hugs...Jeanne

Those "bowl fillers" are FABULOUS!! I just love getting lost in my sewing room. Time has no meaning in there! It makes me happy. So, I know just what you mean!
Happy Pink Saturday!
