I've been sorting linens and I thought this pile made a pretty picture for Pink Saturday. We found a home. We made an offer on another house but someone outbid us. We returned to the house that had been at the top of our list. Luck was with us and the price had dropped $20,000 so we made an offer. With very minor changes they accepted our offer and we are in escrow!! Didn't that go by quick? We hope to be in our new house before the end of July. Which means, I have less than two months to get our belongings sorted. I've given away four bags to Goodwill so far. My hubby was laughing at me because so many of the things I am sending to Goodwill came from estate sales or the Goodwill. Guess I should have thought twice before bringing them home. All of these linens are going with me though.
Did you notice where I am sorting them? On my blanket. I finished it!
It doesn't quite fit my bed but it will fold nicely at the bottom and be good to snuggle under while watching t.v. next winter. Maybe I'll even have a mug of cocoa while I snuggle. Speaking of mugs-the mug set from my previous Pink Saturday post is going to CC at Lace 'n' Ribbon Roses. CC is recuperating from a broken pelvis and I hope that the mug will encourage her to rest and sip some tea. I met CC through Pink Saturdays and she is a real sweetheart. Go visit her and wish her a Happy Pink Saturday!
Congrats on the new home! Lucky you, it will be fun moving and setting up the new place! The lines are so lovely. I love having a few vintage items from my mom! I really treasure them. Hugs Anne

Such good news about your home!!! We moved 5 years ago...it was brutal!! I got rid of tons of "stuff" and somehow ended up moving tons of "stuff" anyway...and now I've accumulated MORE "stuff"!! Guess I love "stuff". I love you blanket..and it will be great for next winter!! Hope your Pink Sat was great! L, Dana
PS I love CC, too!

Hello Betty, I have enjoyed your display of lovely linens. Lots of pink to share. The crochet throw is lovely too. Is that an GW find or did you make it. Knowing how clever you are I bet you made it. I had to laugh at the GW bags. I am so guilty of buying and eventually bagging some of the same stuff and giving it back. HA!
Happy moving Betty. I know it will be hard work but having your new home will be lovely. I do not envy the packing. I have done it way too many times. Bill's job transferred us all around mid and So. Fl. He worked for the power company for almost 30 years. Then he taught math for several more years. He is still teaching part time. He loves it!!!
Happy Pink Saturday.
Hugs, Jeanne

Betty, I just love that baby afghan! My mother in law made and afghan for everyone in the family...they take up one whole shelf in my linen closet and I sigh every time I look at the. I don't have the heart to put them on their beds because they would get ruined. I guess its the old not using the good dishes situation. Hope you had a great weekend.
♥, Susan

BETTY ! BETTY ! BETTY !
WOWWWWWW!!!!
I cannot believe that you have looked for a house, got outbid on one house and got another GREAT DEAL on another and will, hopefully, be moving in sometime this JULY ! Very fast work. It must really be the right thing for you guys because it seems to be all falling into place !
I am so happy that everything went so well. And BOY, you are doing exactly the right thing with sorting and giving away ( and keeping of course ) things NOW instead of packing up everything and doing after (which seems to never get done properly).
And the linens you have decided to keep are just so sweet. You did a great job on your crocheted blanket. It will be great for snuggling up, as you say, with a cup of cocoa next winter, IN YOUR NEW HOUSE !
Well done and good luck with all of your sorting. Hugs, Janice

Congratulations Betty! I'm so very happy for you. I can't wait to see pics of your new home. I collect vintage linens too. I think I need to iron some old tablecloths while our weather is still cool!
